Check your local DIY store for the vinyl self adhesive floor tiles,I got these a few years back for about £3 a box,they are 12" square and can cover a big area quickly,you can either stick them on a board or asI did trim off the backing paper.

That's a good tip and strange cos I was looking at those tiles in poundland today with the same idea in mind.

I've used them in many instances, Joe's Joe Room was done with tiles from Home depot. I even overlaid a portion of my work bench/desk for cutting and working on projects. They are indestructible.

Don't forget to look at real tiles too, I'm doing a Mummy's Tomb dio using distressed 3"x6" real stone tiles, talk about realism, although they are a bit heavy!
