I've got a nice kilt, but hadn't thought of mixing it with that jacket! Great idea! Might be copying soon... Razz

Rolling Eyes I can just see Tom K's take on a kilt being more jean paul gaultier or Fred Fairbrass than a hard as nails, devil in skirts, Scottish soldier!

Excellent Figure Thierry, I love the look. I have made one myself based on a photo off the internet I found. I am also trying to put together an officer as well. I have had the officer project on hold for awhile as I can't seem to win a Sam Browne belt without paying a huge price. Seeing your figure has inspired me to start the search again. Great figure Thierry.

Thierry, a very nice figure indeed Sir!...and i love to see the kilt worn with battle-dress. cheers

The last time the kilt was worn in anger as standard uniform, was in May 1940 Belgium.
There is a lovely painting of this subject called:  The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders by David Rowlands.
The old Action man kilt is actually quite a nice item, plus there was also the Sideshow toy Black Watch kilt.
Other than that you would have to make your own.
For anyone wishing to have a go at making their own kilt, HERE is a easy to follow pattern to make one.

Very well done Thierry, i love this bash, and the only thing i can say to you Sir is to swing the kilt around so that the pleats are at the back, but never fear, this is a common mistake.

Great kitbash!

Neil.

Great looking figure! There was actually a special cut of the battle dress jacket to be worn with the kilt called a doublet.

Can't see myself wearing a kilt, tartan trousers maybe.
