| Yesterday was both a large local toy show; as well as our local GI Joe collectors meeting. I scored a few nice items at the toy show; but the club meeting was the true highlight! Great guys and great Joes! At the toy show, I grabbed a nice black utility belt, two pairs of short black boots; and a nice pair of tall brown boots that will soon be on my Action Soldier's feet. For a non-Joe pick-up;I had this same jeep as a kid; will look good with a few of my plastic soldiers. On to the meeting: I was the host, and after Joe talk and trades in my man-cave; it was on to the back deck for more Joe talk and some food. Brad took this pic. I'm in the red cap and ugly Hawaiian shirt pontificating about something. That's Art in the shade on the end, Rich on the right and Chris on the left. From Chris I got a few helmets, including this vintage MP one As well as a few 40th Navy Attack blue ones. My MOA feels safer already! Art sold me a nice vintage/repro Navy lot. The sailor will eventually channel Mike Nelson, but for now, he's just standing watch. From Rich I bought this Mego Moonraker James Bond, which I'll try to repair over the summer. Depite his Royal Navy service, CDR Bond looks decidedly seasick! Rich also did an amazing job converting a scramble pilot helmet into a Polizei version, and making this outstanding crossbelt! Top quality work all around! I just have to get a visor for the helmet. A great day overall! -Nate | |

| Nice haul! I personally think all the early uniforms look much better on Paintheads, the helmets sit much lower on their heads, which give a certain look that i like _________________ clivvers - saviour of the huMAM race @ MAMageddon 2009 - 2099 @ clivvers MAM Nation: | |

| Thanks for the kind words, gents! I did a bit of surgery to two of my 40th helmets, and removed the chinstrap lugs so they would fit over the MOA hair. I might cut the vintage MP helmet lugs since it looks better; but I was too chicken at the moment. -Nate | |

| Nate, A white elastic chin strap on the MP helmet would look good, i'm also liking your Navy Attack Joe I've made some white puttees for my Joe MP, i made them out of some trouser braces/suspenders, they sit well on short boots. _________________ clivvers - saviour of the huMAM race @ MAMageddon 2009 - 2099 @ clivvers MAM Nation: | |
