The Fort

As you can see, the fort is on the end of this Down, you cannot see it from the beach, as it is hidden from sight on the other side, It quite a walk to the Fort, and also very steep!



Once at the top a rest was needed!







That's Wales on the other side of the Channel.

After a very long walk along the top of the Down, the old fort came into sight!



Just to the right is Weston-Super-Mare



and Cardiff over there! (I wonder if we can see Reddragon??)



and so to the Fort !












Quite a long way down!

Nice photos, Dal!

It's very intresting to know about the secret WWII weapons that were tested near the fort, and some caused problems for farmers and chickens! I bet a few chickens ended up on the Officers dinner plates.

So that's where 'Reddragon Island' is! I can visualize an Adventure Team set, including a night raiding dinghy: 'Raid At Reddragon Island'
