CARDED 1960's ASTRONAUT

Well i found another of my wants on eBay last week. I had seen it for a few weeks at silly money but after a bit of haggling i couldn't  manage to get this as low as i wanted. My wife decided to surprise me with it and in actual fact it turned up very late and in much worse condition that advertised

But as it was a present i thought oh well lets have a go anyway so here it is..............

Heres how he turned up

First mission as always reinforce the old card with inserts

Next PVA glue the rips just so they stay down








Luckily the inner cards tabs were just torn and folded over




Touch more PVA glue and some sticky tape on the reverse and that was good to go

Now the more tricky matching of the stars that were missing





I looked at the side damage too and printed a new side too





But then i decided just to do the front and keep the side original and with damage

So it was looking ready for the uniform now

I managed to source a MINT outfit from Ian (Eagle eyes Action Station) and a loose one that i had so i chose the best bits and used those



1 hour later and some needle holes to the fingers it was time to cellophane this beauty and put in in the collection

Its finding a red devil thats the problem as i could treat myself

Still at least it cures the hunger as after that it will only be something else
