| It's a hundred years since Scott's ill fated attempt to reach the South Pole. This was my entry for a comp over at Action command. In true, SIERRA1 style it's all Hasbro, and bits of scrap! 1912 Antarctic Discoverer! This is Herbert Ponting - the expeditions official photographer. It's thanks to him that there is actual footage, not only of the expedition, but of the final famous five (Scott, Wilson, Bowers, Evans and Oates) before they set off for the Pole. The main components for my camera are bits from a field telephone/wire roll handle and a stand from a Adventure Team set. Instead of using dogs to haul the sledges, Scott relied on AManpower! There are some great docs on youtube and some fantastic books about the whole adventure, including a vintage Ladybird book, and a Penguin biography with that classic style cover. One of my favourite bits of research was this...

| Thanks, fellers! Jim - the red nose is a bit of nonsense really on my part. According to what I've read the wind burn actually blackened their faces which you can make out from those original pics where they're at the Pole. | |

| Superlatives fail me Jim. The kit bashes are so true to the reference pictures and the kit looks so intricate and authentic. The whole thing looks flawlessly researched and executed. Move over Sierra1 there's a new customs king in town!

| A truly great kitbash , such a original way to approach it all too. The red nose touch is simply brilliant , the minor little touches are what draw you in ever closer. This is a spectacular piece of VAM work , you should be very proud. | |

| I know, I know that The Intruder is high on the list of have not/want not! I couldn't have cared less about him for years! Then when I saw him in real life, I couldn't have laughed any louder! He is so short he'd cut a rather pathetic adversary for Bilbo Baggins let alone the mighty Action Man! However, I did a bit of research and I do believe the 'Strong Man from another planet' has suffered from really bad publicity. He was never meant to be pitted against a 12inch figure, he was originally designed to go up against SuperJoe, (For whom he would have been a great enemy) but something went badly wrong and so he ended up in our 1/6 Hall of Shame!!!! This is how I always thought of him! Then my daughter got hold of him and my wife joined in with the warpaint!!!! This is The Intruder's Mum Or GI Joe's Mother in law from plastic hell!!! I had to find someway of getting him back into my team! The actual idea of putting his head on a regular body was not mine, I know it's been done before certainly by 66noscar and ak615. I've also seen him reflocked before by fuzzhead75 amongst others. I think my little twist on the scenario was to have a 'Missing link' type figure. I gave him two eyes and flocktastic gave him the hair and a scar to make him part of the team!!!! Keep an open mind, folks - I wouldn't part with him now! Never say never!!! | |

| Jim You have changed a ugly looking (sorry for saying that) little man into a really looking respectable man , I just love him, I think putting his head onto a regular body has turned out brilyent, it's made him taller and he looks beta that way. I'm loving the reflocked blond hair and beard look that flocktastic has giving him, It gives him a kinder looking face well I think so. I'm also loving the smart brown gentleman's suit you have put him in . OUTSTANDING KIT BASH JIM!!!!! _________________ I’m Dedicated to serving Professor Gangrene as One of His Loyal Minions.

| He looks brilliant Jim. I think Jemma would never forgive me if I swipped the head off ours, she's still got me looking for the silver one. :-). I'm on the look out for a spare head now though your fella looks amazing could imagine him talking with your Fillias Fog character. Great upload. | |
