| I met with the company launching the 50th today and was a good meeting and I am hopeful of supplying expertise in some form when the 50th figures launch in June 2016.
The figure I saw (early stages which could still evolve), was a hybrid of 'the best bits' of the original figures. The head sculpt will be very similar to the brown flock head, but not eagle eyes. The body looked like BP but greater jointing and articulation is being created. Hands are grippers, goes without saying. A real hybrid figure. The initial box is the familiar 1966 box albeit with the amended uniform image as per contents. I am told the original GIJoe artist is being commissioned to illustrate new figure drawings for the basic soldier (the familiar clothing with metal dog tag brown boots and cap). And the footballer / sportsman.
A 1966 footballer figure will be launched to coincide with England's World Cup victory anniversary in familiar red shirt white shorts.
The other sets (from basic soldier £25 and upwards) will be Frogman, Ski Patrol, Paratrooper (GI Joe marine type with working chute), British Infantryman to be followed with more contemporary themes.
Some limited edition pieces also mentioned which I cannot disclose but pretty exciting.
UK and France initially being rolled out to world market, but available from speciality stores, so more readily available than 40th was.
Accessories will be pretty close to original - they haven't taken steps (as yet) to distinguish retro looking pieces, so beware, but modern methods and materials may be tell tale. The will be new accessories and possibly head sculpts worked in to give range longevity.
New editions will be launched on appropriate dates and subjects.
Hope this is detail enough for now, I was told I was the first to see it.

| wow truly fantastic news , is this a playable toy for kids or is this strictly adult collectors market ? would be nice to see actionman back on the shelf for kids as there is market for 12 inch figures I know my son has quite a few marvel ones with only 5 points of articulation ! | |

Hopefully cos you've been slacking lately!! In other good news, my daughter told me that a '50th anniversary Action Man World Cup footballer' was being produced. Apparently she'd heard it on the radio. Reaching a wider audience outside collecting circles can only help the 50th. _________________ Life moves pretty fast. wonder where they will be sold ? I heard today that toy outlets will stock them!!! And the fact that the phs have grippers could nod towards the playability rather than collectabilty!! They better be stronger than the 40th then _________________ | |
