| This is a Canadian version of the very first Fighting Yank. This was not produced by Mego, it was produced by PGD -- Princess Grace Dolls. He isn't as good quality as Tommy Gunn, but these Canadian figures are fairly rare. This is a Fighting Yank version... Princess Grace Dolls -- Fighting Yank | |

| A great figure Brian.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we ever had a figure like that in the UK. We had the rubber armed Action Buddy which had a Tommy Gunn KO headsculpt but the only figure with the Fighting Yank style body was the fugly headed Redbox.

| This is the figure SKJ mentions and is how i remember the ACTION BUDDY figure i had as a kid, He is missing the blue cap with the wings and is marked MINTEX on the back. The sailors uniforms are both ACTION BUDDY but are different, the bottom one looks very much like the fighting yank uniform. _________________ “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” | |

I love knock-offs! The figure you have there is actually the second version of Fighting Yank, but the first version made by Mego International Textiles. I would not rule out that the figure was packaged as an Action Buddy at some point, but here is an example of a standard Action Buddy figure... Action Buddy LinkThe uniforms are actually a standard knockoff uniform rebranded for Action Buddy. Here's a Fighting Yank version of the packaging... | |

| Some of that KO gear is great! Those figures would be welcome in any collection! I actually outfitted my Defender in KO gear: -Nate | |

| Another Canadian figure, nice Defender Nate!!! Those Red Box figures are very much like the Johnny Canuck body, but no where's near as handsome as the Canadian. Brian | |

| As Reddragon says this is the Action Buddy we had in the UK. This is the box I remember too. Interestingly it's called 'Military Buddy' not 'Action Buddy'. Maybe the KO merchants didn't want to risk a law suit from Palitoy so avoided the use of the word 'Action' in the UK. _________________ Life moves pretty fast. | Thanks for posting a pic of the box SKJ. I seem to remember that box but am pretty sure it was marked ACTION BUDDY, i always knew my figure as a action buddy and remember searching it when i first got my computer nearly 20 years ago. Can't think where else i would have got that name other than off the box I only had K.O figures as a kid , mostly the really cheap things that broke when you touched them. The ACTION BUDDY was a step up believe it or not lol i was very fond of him and i only had the one. _________________ “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” | |

You've bought a tear to my eye Richard! All I can actually remember from my childhood is the name 'Buddy', that's what we called them. I've only really noticed the 'Action' and/or 'Military' prefixes since collecting as an adult. _________________ Life moves pretty fast.
