Hi all,

I can remember just like it was yesterday in 1969 getting a eight ropes
of danger set for Christmas! cheers

Then Christmas of 1970 getting the Sharks Surprise set! cheers
For some reason I remember these two Christmas's more vivid then any
other Christmas's... Very Happy

I had so many underwater bathtub adventures with these Joes!  cheers
I still have all my original childhood accessories and Joes from these sets!... cheers
Minus the orange scuba suit which is long gone... My original 8 ropes of Danger
dive suit is upstairs in a box as the rubber lining fell out of the inside and the neck is
really stretched...

But these two sets are front and center of my little display space area...

I also remember having this set as a child but I have no accessories left... Sad
I ran strong twine from our 2nd story bathroom window to the ground and sent Joe on some
mighty wild rides... lol!

I don't think anyone can forget getting their first Joe or vam, it was a special moment, and the moment our 1/32 scale toy soldiers took a back seat. Nice lineup you have there Jim, there's nothing like owning a piece of your childhood toy history, it's very special and personal. I don't have any of my original vam's or Joes, but i do have a lot of my scalextric and model trains from back in the day, including a boxed scalextric Set 50 and one of my cub scout sock garters from the late 1960's.

I think it is great that these 'toys' have managed to stay with us through thick and thin... and bring back so many deep seated childhood memories... and I think, even better, new 'grown up' ones! I've really enjoyed 'playing' with my Action Man again these last few years... especially at Christmas... Razz santa

Great thread Jim and a nice bunch of Joes... Very Happy
