I don't mean to intrude on your thread, but your Foreign Adventurer reminded me of a custom/personalised AT badge a friend made for me a few years ago.

what you may, or not find interesting is though I have a French name my origins are actually Scottish, English, German and French. We can trace the family back to Germany and England and further back to Scotland, but the closest we've ever come to France is a French Canadian fur trapper and possibly Native American as well.

Your ancestry reads like the one's Hollywood A-listers have on movie sites! I love that your mostly German/British but have a French name. I can't help thinking of this French trapper as a 'pepe le pew' type who charmed his way into your family history, made his mark, and then vanished back into the wilderness!

..and probably left his red hat on before, during and after!

This photo below reminds me of a white bed sheet me and my brother used for our Action Man polar play back in the day.

I've added a second Man of Action, because in 1970, sometimes there were blonde Men of Action, likely a factory fluke.

Bri- what an interesting history ! A cousin of mine recently had one of those Ancestry DNA test things - Our branch of the The Munro's / Cockertons- have mainly in the last 100 years been in the Cheshire /N Wales region but then spring back to Scotland with a bit of Scandinavian thrown in and even further back a bit of Norman !!
