| Here he is complete with new hand (from eBay), can't believe I found a right Tom Stone hand. Ready for action in his original camouflage uniform and beret. One of my favourite figures when I was younger.... and still is, he poses really well with the restring.(and beret covers his bald spot, but then we are all getting older !! | |

| Good work on the restoration, it's well worth it, especially as it's one of your original figures from back in the day. _________________ clivvers - saviour of the huMAM race @ MAMageddon 2009 - 2099 @ clivvers MAM Nation: | |

| I've restrung a vam painthead talker in the past along with a few other vam, they are very easy to do..... I used a bit of 40th AM elastic and the shiny silver thigh/leg crimps to do one. The thigh crimps on the vam are really hard to prise open but I managed to do it in the end, I also took the thigh pins out to leave them in a cup of coca cola for a few days, so the rust was etched away I also used a stiff toothbrush to help. I've not had problems with any loose arms yet, but I think you can use dental floss wrapped around the arm retainer a few times on the inside when you have the 64 bodied talker apart, just tie a knot to keep it put.
Good luck. _________________ clivvers - saviour of the huMAM race @ MAMageddon 2009 - 2099 @ clivvers MAM Nation:

| Another childhood figure repaired This time my very first bought for me , probably around 73 , 74 . He was originally a talker but when i opened him up the talking mechanism was rusty and had totally seized up [ probably spending to much time in the sea wolf in the pond ]. i might replace this in the future , but for now I've just changed the elastic . I can't believe the difference , this guy was known as mr floppy but now he can stand and pose on his own for the first time in forty odd years . Here he is with his old buddy Tom Stone now with his original gun I also found his original hat and a strange uniform probably a knock off [but great quality ] in amongst my original box of bits . | |

| Great to see 'Mr Floppy' (oh those Barbies can be sooo cruel!) back in action! Maybe you can promote him to 'Captain Stiff' now! I don't know much about the 'Crown Colony' labelled stuff beyond it being vintage. Maybe someone can enlighten us? _________________ Life moves pretty fast. | They both look great Jet , did you have any problems with putting the arms of Tom Stone back together? I seem to remember having trouble finding glue that would hold it. I always thought the 'Crown Colony' labelled stuff was Tommy Gunn , I have read it somewhere but no idea where ( it's an age thing ) _________________ “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” | |

What I used to glue back the arms was Howdens mitre bond as it was all I had on the van at the time Mind you it does the trick and now I use it on everything , it even stuck a metal handle on a garden lamp a while ago. With regards to the crown colony uniform, I've looked them up and they were even made in the same factory as the palitoy ones. I think they were a cheep alternative outfit for 12 inch action figures. the Tommy Gunn ones are totally different material with stitches for pockets, still nice though. Cheers James
