BAM HQ Garage / Armoury

As the title suggests, I am building another dio for the guys. I am hoping to build something like Cerberus; amazing dio, but whether it will measure up too his is a very high standard to aim for , Nonetheless, I will give it my best shot. I have built it the same way as the 'Ammo Arms' and sat it on top of it , I know, I know it should have been under the 'Ammo Arms'! but I ain't moving it now!

I haven't got very far with it, so here are a few photos. I decided to recycle some older stuff I have used in past dio's, like my stone walls.



and the eagled eyed out there will notice my old metal door! Unfortunately I didn't have enough of my old stone walls, so I had to get more isolation boards, then more glue! (Theres always something! ). So with a few hours free this afternoon, I cut and carved the remaining walls.




This will be where the Garage doors will go, eventually!

Of course I still have to paint all the walls, and do a lot more building before it will be finished, but hopefully, you guys will enjoy the journey with me   .

I don't know exactly what dal uses ..

But Celotex insulation board could be used or polystyrene insulation. Can be bought at most builders merchants or diy places..

Maybe I'm not looking for the right stuff ??

Or how about stuff with foil on ??..is it just a case of peeling off the foil ??

Yes that is celotex , they do different thickness , I presume this is the sort of stuff he uses as it is easy to cut up ,.. as you said you could just peel the silver stuff off

Thanks for the great feedback guys! Yep that is the stuff I use, the second pic is exactly the same. I will have to measure the thickness for you though of the board.

What do you use to cut the brickwork pattern ?

Hi Dean, I mark and carve the brickwork out with a pencil and ruler mate, I have a carpenters ruler, but a long straight piece of woo would work just as well. hope it helps

The thickness I have used is 5cm (50mm),

I'm going to walking this journey of you building the BAM's HQ Garage / Armoury with interest every step of the way . But Dal your going to chose a vehicle or vehicles each day to put in the Garage and that be difficult what with the amount of vehicles you have lol. Oh I think you definitely put some Garage posters on the walls, you know the ones I mean .

I am sure I will think of something Al . I like the idea of adding a different vehicle or vehicles for each update

I use it all the time on extensions and loft conversions. There's a shortage of it at the moment. The reasons I've heard so far are that the manufacturer sold it all to China (That's the excuse they used for the fencing shortage a few years ago) or that a large chemical plant where they make the ingredients has burnt down.
..what ever..they are showing no concern for VAM dio makers!

Fantastic WIP pics Dal. It'll be a great additional set for your comics and what with you having better/faster builders than me, it'll be finished within the decade!

I think that the real reason that there's a shortage is that Dal has bought it all

@ Steve, well I hope so mate! but I suspect this one will be a slow burn project, as I am having to build everything from scratch. I will update as often as I can

When I finish this one, it will be dio number 3, the study, the pub and the garage. I don't think I will be able to build anymore as I will have no more room!
