Crash landing..!!! Operation market garden. Episode 1

The glider has been hit by flack , It's coming apart.... his co pilot has been killed and  sergeant Bryant has been pushed through the cockpit window and is stuck and has no control .....there going down......






















Two German sentries have had it easy in this part of holland , there chatting about the night ahead..

" I think it's going to be a quiet. Night  Hans..".   Yes  fritz ... " it's not like any sing. Is going to fall out of ze sky..".  (Hilarious laughter ...)














Ohh....... mummy....





















The paras get out of the glider and start to sort out there wounded and kit
























The glider has caught alight ..... let's get out of here lads..





















" Jones is still in there ...".  He'll be burnt alive....











" Don't be a fool Davis ....".  Come back ...

I'm guessing the Jerries didn't make it,,,and I'm hoping the MAM didn't either!

Ha ha..... the jerries unfortunately didn't make it , I think the result of a 4 ton glider falling on you.... you would only be fit to spread on toast...

The nam also perished , I was going to use a. Dragon guy. , as I have loads of them and don't really like them too much , but I went to a toy fair yesterday and got talking to a guy... long ..story short..... he will swap a load of kit for the dragon guys .... so nam. Stepped into the breach.... he was buried with dignity..

Those dragon guys arms make great vam replacements

Do dragon arms fit on action man then ..?

I think it was sparklebudgie that used some?, but on the vam that open up , not sure if they work on standard vam?

I'm just loved every picture of the Crash landing, the pictures of the plane catching fire and then on fire were just firetastic and it's nice to see a Mam in use .

Enjoyed burning the glider  made some great shots...    maybe it's the kid in me  ,  destroying something you have made has a strange satisfying feeling

The glider was a hastily put together thing and was a pain to store away and it was always my intention for it to go down in glory .... which it did admirably..


I was going to leave the bodies of  fritz and hans (. Couldn't have been more German stereotypical  names if I tried )  by the glider , but thought it better  if  they had been mushed by the  glider..

You don't need to be sorry, I'm just really pleased that you used a Mam that's all. I don't need a lie down for a bit because I'm fine with it.

      Brilliant and very funny!!!! made me laugh, especially when those two nazis got the glider right in the kisser!

That's gotta be a world record for getting that many Action Man figures into a cardboard glider, a bit like all those people squeezing into a Mini car back in the 60's.

Shame it was a MAM para hero destroyed by fire and not the enemy

I think the glider was made buy the same people that made dr who's tardis....

Stunning pics rustygun   Bet you enjoyed every second of the making of these pics.  You can'tbeat outdoorpics of a group VAM and a fantastic story that goes with it.  

A pleasure to see you made  your own glider for this series.  The pics of the glider catching fire is an innovative idea, I don't think we have seen this before in a VAM context.  Wel done mate, looking forward to episode 2.

And I did enjoy making the scenes and the glider ..... and strangely enjoyed burning it
