I was going for a Bladerunner 2049 atmosphere, so I found a suitable Bladerunner wallpaper, set it fullscreen on the laptop, stood Ray in front of the screen and shone an LED bike light on him from above. The camera was on a tripod as the exposure was 2 seconds. The ciggie is just a piece of spaghetti painted white, the band aid is micropore tape, and the smoke was a bit of simple editing. The jacket is a really old Palitoy British officer greatcoat, which was in terrible condition, so I repaired it and dyed it dark green. Quite happy with the result...

Just received these three old heads back from Mick Coxey after he worked his re-flocking magic on them. They were in a terrible state when I got them but he did a tremendous job... I'm so chuffed with them!
Managed to dig out my old Scout Car from the parents' loft. I gave it a good scrub in hot soapy water and it's turned out pretty nice. Need to get some stickers for it and also source hubcaps and a new Browning, but it's good to have the old beast back in service!

Cots kilt? I bought one. Nice piece, sent it to Rogue Trooper in a stolen Christmas card.

What a great pic!
Love the scout car...the scuffs and scraps show it's seen some action on it's time!

I managed to pick up a helmet to go with my very old spacesuit. I'm not sure if it's VAM, but I don't mind...it looks great! I always loved the old space stuff!

For many years, I have been convinced that all my childhood VAM were lost. Casualties of my own over-zealous clearing out of my old boxes of stuff in my parents' house. This summer, while visiting them, I remembered that there might have been a box of my old Matchbox cars under the floor, so I went for a look. The space under the floor was very tight, dark and incredibly dusty, so I was crawling about on hands and knees with a head torch. I came across several boxes and so I dragging them out, and opened them up. One was a box of annuals: 2000ad, Beano, Dandy, Warlord and Victor – Hurrah!! Then I opened the second box and just about dropped it in shock. Inside were three members of my own Childhood Five: My blonde Eagle Eye figure (who never had a name, so I'll have to think about what to call him), the remains of my Tom Stone figure, bought in Hamleys in regent Street in June 1979, and my original dark haired VAM, Dave. I was honestly moved to tears to find them, and it was a while before I could collect myself to actually unpack them from the box! There wasn't much equipment left, but I don't mind. I was just over the moon to find them:
Here are Eagle Eye and Dave in the garden in about 1979:
There's a lot of work to be done to bring them back to original condition, but it's going to be a labour of love, for sure!
I've already managed to source a new head and neck post for Tom, so I'll be restringing his arms in the next couple of months. I've cleaned up Eagle Eye's head, and I'll be restringing that soon. With Dave, though, I'll be taking my time. He's one of my oldest toys, and went everywhere with me as a child, so I want to take a lot of care. I don't think I'll re-flock him, as I want to keep him as original as possible, and I think it would change how he looks. Anyway, a very special find, and I couldn't be happier!

That really is a moment to treasure Scott, there are not many of us that still have our childhood guys . Really good news that you have tracked down a head and neck post for Tom, and every team should have an ee . It will be interesting to see Dave come back to active duty too. I shall look on with interest. Loving that chldhood shot of the bots off on a backyard adventure too

Yes, an amazing feeling, and I realise how lucky I am! I'll need to try to recreate that photo from the garden. The tree and fence have long gone, but the Scout Car is in good condition and the boys are back! Looks like Dave was wearing Tom's camo outfit! I'll need to get hold of a Thumper grenade launcher (shouldn't be too hard!) and a tank commander jacket!

Awesome! It will be great to see a re shoot of the original shot. I should imagine the bits will be knocking about on the bay. Its such a pity that flocktastic doesn't flock anymore, he did skj's Joe and Hank back to their original look from detailed pms and photos from steve, but as you say, keeping him the way he is will remind you of all of his adventures

What a fantastic find! Well done for perservering and remembering the hole under the floor. Just imagine those three guys hiding there all those years! It's like a Toy Story tale where the three friends go into hiding when their owner has to move on.
