Amazing!!
The detail in that 'set' is awesome! It really does look like a hell of a battle has just taken place!!

Amazing level of gritty detail. The overall impression is "intense."
Equally impressive in B&W or colour. Often, colour photos look more "toy-like," but your painting and weathering, the realistic poses and stances of the figures, the way the debris is scattered, and the use of a slightly muted colour scheme combine to make the colour photos as dramatic and believable as the B&W versions.

Brilliant Dean, amazing bit of work!!! I agree with all that Steve and Dave said, excellent spread of debris-very realistic looking and the muted colors also really add to the realism.
The real burned out bits are totally cool. I also think that it takes a special talent to scatter the debris and make it look real-you got it.
I was watching a program about the making of Band of Brothers and they were talking about how they muted the colors to make it look more realistic-you got that too!

Gibri and scu hq...thanks very much for your kind words.. I think you may be giving me a bit to much credit for the muted colour scheme...i just wanted it to be well worn , battle damaged , and dirty looking ...and it has come out “ muted “ by mistake Also the debris... I just threw about to what I thought looked right ... not really a precise technical approach.. But I’m glad you liked it .. I wanted to set up the couple of buildings for a few test shots for my arnhem bridge project..

Stunning work Dean, I can only agree with what the guys have said.
You may not use a technical approach to these dios but you certainly have an eye for setting up a taking these pictures.

Wow, that is a great diorama! The first photos in black and white were like they were taken during the time period.
Tremendous work! And I'm sure that dio took some time to build!
I'm curious, how did you make the stone wall and the blocks scattered about?
Great photos!

Thanks Daryl...... I made the wall from thermalite ( building ) blocks, cut with a saw to make the brickwork pattern and the small blocks scattered about are just cut up bits of thermalite block again
