Max Steel villain Vitriol

A recent thread under the No-Face Files I dug out my Max Steel Bio-Constrictor
figures.

In the same box I found another Max Steel foe, Vitriol.

As far as I know this was the only version made of him, much like the
Anti-Freeze figure from the MAM line.

His arms don't bend, but that is because they are filled with lights. Which
apparently is his weapon. The character apparently puts out energy
waves.

Push a button on his chest and his arms light
up and a sound is made. The button is just above my thumb in the photo.





The second photo is not taken in my usual style of bounce flash. The flash
kept the lights from showing up. So I went to 2500 ISO, shot with a slow
shutter speed which required putting the camera on a tripod.

It's certainly a great name for a villain, and the light-up arms are a great gimmick, but his face looks kind of benign or maybe a little sad in an Asian way.
So many of these figures seem to have been manufactured with moulded-on clothing for the upper body but got real trousers.

I think it was a cost reducing measure. The later Classic Collection Joes were made the same way. I guess making cloth trousers
is not as expensive as making shirts. A lot of the later CC Joes had molded shirts and cloth pants. A shame really.

Smaller Joe figures, like the new 6 or 8 inch "classified" line are all molded.
