What Action Man or Joe figure was your first experience as a kid?

I remember getting my first ever modern Action Man for my 10th birthday. He was Action Man 1995 and was the swimmer with rotating arms. This was a welcome gift from my big brother. I played with it for hours in the bath!

I believe I was five years old. I received a GI Joe Action Pilot for Easter. The figure appears as my user icon on the forum.

Don`t think I was much older than Dave with his first Joe , but my first Action Man , was the Action Soldier with hard Blue Beret . I remember for some odd reason , I always got dark haired figures whilst my brother got blondes .

My first 12” Joe was a sea adventurer my dad and I found in a specialty toy store in the mid-1980s.

I was 6 when I first got my Action Soldier with additional space suit for my birthday, then Christmas I got the shuttle and motor bike and sidecar, with and Pilot with a couple of outfits, I know one was German outfit,
Then over the years few more arrived adventures and a Lotus Green Racing Car, and a armoured Car,

My fist VAM was a 1968 Talking Commander.

He was my favourite toy for a year or two but was soon replaced by newer recruits, He was a little the worse for wear when I found him in the loft a few years ago.


I think the term is 'play worn!'

.. but gentlemen, we can rebuild him, we have the technology. . . and access to repro spare parts!
