| One of the better rivals to Gi Joe was the All American Fighter line that Marx made in the 1960s. They are also known as "Buddy Charlie" due to the Montgomery Ward Department Store tagging them as such. They were in a sense the American cousin to Tommy Gunn. I've picked up a few Marx pieces recently; and had been looking for a decent All American fighter; and I picked this "well-loved" example up from Ebay for a small amount.  There are replacement arms out there; (Captain Action ones are nearly identical) but I needed a cheap stopgap to give him some adventure potential! | I was able to do some repairs to my Marx guy by buying an Ideal Knight of Darkness that used the Captain Action body.   I'm not sure what he'll eventually be, but he's got kind of got a French Resistance or SOE vibe.   -Nate | |
