| Yikes! This is amazing!I hope you don't mind a barrage of questions! Did you build this from a plan you found, or are you making it up as you go? If it is your own plan, how did you determine the dimensions? Is most of the construction done with wood? How did you get the sides of the bow to curve like that? What are you using to secure the pieces together: screws, tiny nails, glue? What is the total length and width? It looks like about 3-1/2 to 4 feet (100 - 125 cm) long. Fantastic work! And your Cap'n Quint looks as "screen accurate" as the boat! _________________ ... DAVE

Dave, Many thanks for your comments on my build of the Orca, I've only just seen your message about the build of it, I'll explain what I did, first of I got a image of the boat, then laid a action man down on a piece of large paper and drew the size of the top section of the bridge side on, to get the height, then got a a image of the front were the shark jaws are mounted and drew the size of that against the action figure, so that was cut and sawn to size, then for the cabin part, got the size with the figure and cut that from MDF 8mm then it was get the length of the boat, With the bridge and the cabin bits done it was getting the length of the boat which worked out tobe 51 inches long, with out the plank part where Quint stands at the front of the boat which is in the making now Very Happy Hopefully I will able to get some more work done soon I'm in the process of bashing Brody and Hooper, Hope this answers your question Regards Mark, _________________ Its better to Burn out than fade away

| Thank you for the detailed information about your process. Your technique for determining the size led you to a very convincing scale result! _________________ ... DAVE

| That boat is shaping up beautifully! Great work! Building props in 1/6 means that things tend to get very large indeed!
I too have a great white shark that would be about the scale you need. See it in my MAM Kitbash post called "On the Menu?". |

| Looks better every time I see her!!! Looking forward to seeing it with the mast. The figures look great too. IIRC from the film, that boat was in a dirty and disheveled state. Yours looks so nice and clean I was wondering if you plan to take the plunge and do some weathering to her? Love this build!!! | |
