| Something that occurred to me when I recently came across my Special Mission Pod, while rummaging for kit, was that there was never an official uniform/figure designated for this piece, nor had I ever earmarked a figure for it... First of all the pod...    The contents...  Dinghy with oar, anchor and flare pistol...  The splendid Bren gun and bipod...  So it was off to the spares box to outfit a figure and I came up with this guy. I chose a bearded Adventurer figure, as I envisaged him as a Royal Navy operative, dropped ashore from a submarine with his pod for a secret mission. And of course for secret missions, black is always the new black.   Cap from the Commando set, sweater from the French Resistance Fighter, standard Hasbro/Palitoy grenades, ammo sections from the SAS Commando set and the arm pouch from the SAS Secret Mission set (a set that also featured a mission pod)...  Boots are from the Action Pilot basic figure and pants are from the Action Soldier basic figure dyed black...  Standard Palitoy late issue binoculars, black web belt by Cotswold Collectibles and standard issue Hasbro/Palitoy holster and Colt 45...  I thought the standard day-glo orange holstercord stood out like a beacon on what is meant to be a stealth uniform, so I replaced it with a black cord tied to the leg...  Row, row row your boats...  Manning the gun...  I've had the pod for years and can't believe I've gone all this time without assigning a figure to it, but I think this guy is just the ticket!

| Great kitbash  He really looks the part. And all of the little changes/additions have made a big difference. The black leg cord is so obvious and so simple.....so why the heck didn't I think if it before

So good it could have actually been THE figure to be released with the pod!
I am amazed that you can identify the source of each and every piece too. |

| My collection thread was locked to me yesterday..but all the missing pages were back. Then it unlocked itself, but about 30 pages disappeared again

I have reset your settings, could I ask, have you tried logging out and then back in? I know its sounds silly, but at least we could rule it out? | |
