| Name ? Rick Pelletier
Online name ? Joeman (UK) Joemanri (US)
Location ? Pawtucket, RI USA Home of HASBRO
First vam/Joe/mam or 1/6 figure ? The first one I can remember was a PH GI Joe Marine I inherited from my older brother, I’d have to guess maybe 1967.
Favourite figure now ? Too many, but I recently bought a rather large collection, and got 1 of my Holy Grails. It is The 1969 Sears exclusive Negro Adventurer, in French Resistance uniform. I never thought I’d ever see one in my collection.
Most desired item ? I have 3 things I’m really wanting, State Trooper, Mouth of Doom original long pole, and the black motor for the Challenge of The Savage River set.
What will you do with your collection as you get older ? What do you mean, I’m already older…. I hope to educate my daughters about my collection and be sure they know the value and what to do with it when it becomes theirs!
Do you set yourself a budget ? No! I don’t have a budget, but I refuse to go into debt for GI Joes. I only get into buying mode when I have extra money. I often trade or sell off duplicates to help support my habit.
Worst vam/joe/mam or 1/6 figure ? I never really liked the Muscle Bodies that much.
Views on 40th reproductions ? I love them all! I’m a bit of a purist and try not to mix them up with vintage though.
Worst item of the vam/joe/mam or 1/6 range ? Defenders, but I still have some and they do grow on you.
Best thing about collecting vam/joe/mam or 1/6 figures ? The pure excitement of the hunt and kill always keeps me going. I also enjoy repairing and restoring Joes, vehicles, and building dioramas.
Do you think your collection will be collectible in the future ? I’m not really sure? I think we might be approaching the time where interest may drop off a bit. I certainly hope not!
If you did not collect vam/Joe/mam or 1/6 figures, what would you collect ? Militaria, VWs and scale vehicles
Why do you like ammo ? AMMO is just a great group of passionate straight shooting collectors! No politics or bull crap on here! The way it should be! | |
