Wait, 2 months have passed in the story and Tibias has not done a lot to find Jake and the higher ups are not have dragged in front of a commission to find out if he is able to run his organization? MI6 is slacking off, I tell you what.
Also, The Doctor is sort of restrained in this, knowing the 10th Doctor, he would have torn Tibias a new one and then left, he is very anti-authoritarian after all, no one orders him around. Makes me wish you had used The Second Doctor for this, he was the guy who constantly disregarded what any authority was telling him and would have ignored orders to return to base and carried on with trying to find out more and what is really going on (see The Macra Terror).
I still wonder what Tibias endgame here is, the cover-up thing sounds about right, it almost seems like he wants to cover his own ass for his inability to stop the plans from being stolen and Doctor Sid from being abducted, something that his superiors sure would have him punished for.

Hmmmm....the best laid plans of mice and men....
Tibias's schemes seem to be collapsing around him. First, he's damn near facing a mutiny from Jake's agents. Second, Jake is still out there with Tabi. Third, it's beginning to dawn on him that Diablos survived the assassination attempt and that K-Troop's assessment of a connection between Diablos and rogue Nazis is spot on.

Pleased you stopped by to check out the latest chapter . The one thing you must remember about the Doctor, he is only a visitor at BAM-HQ, unlike UNIT, he's not on the payroll so to speak. Here, the Doctor has been called away, possibly to another time or even planet to possobly a much more dire situation. Your right about Tibias though, he is walking a thin tightrope at the moment!

There was a lot of ground to cover, I'm so pleased you enjoyed it! Yes, Tibias, is gonna have to do some damage control or these situations could cost him dearly. More to come soon .

I love the line where The Doctor refers to Tibias as "Agent Tibias." In short, The Doctor does not recognize Tibias's authority at all!
And Lola - Lola really has nothing to lose. She's from another time and another universe, and she's basically here on a "consultant" basis or as an independent contracted operative as opposed to being a full agent of BAM-HQ. She's seen enough in her lifetime that there's nothing Tibias can do to rattle her.
But Tibias is definitely rattled. He is not accustomed to having his authority questioned. Actually, he is not accustomed to dealing with field agents first-hand; he's an "admin guy." His authority appears to be unravelling. He had no idea how strong-willed the "Black Ops" operatives of BAM-HQ actually are. There's a lot more to dealing with this quirky crew than just issuing orders.
Really fun installment! I loved all the back and forth among the characters! And it all works to advance the narrative, answering some questions while raising others!
