Very sad to hear that actor David McCallum passed away yesterday, just 6 days after his 90th Birthday! A great actor, who worked in film and TV for so many years!
I was saddened when I saw the news. If I saw Man from U.N.C.LE. it was when I was very young. Local TV hasn't shown it in syndication that I recall.
But I have really enjoyed his work on the show NCIS. CBS showed the very first episode last night with a memorial screenshot at the end. The show will start either it's 21st or 22nd season this year.

That Corgi Oldmobile 88 must be based on a 1961 Oldsmobile 88! I owned a real one when I was in my early 20s! Oh, how I loved that car! It would fly like a bat out of heck, too... which was particularly cool because it wasn't a sedan, it wasn't a two-door coupe, it was a funeral coach (that is, a hearse!).
Definitely the coolest car I ever owned.
Silly me, I got married, and the new spouse decided that owning a hearse wasn't particularly practical. I wish I'd resisted the "strong suggestion" to sell it. That's the one car I have missed the most of all the vehicles I've owned.
The inset round tail lights and that curved-to-a-point rear fender section looked a lot like The Batmobile.
Did the U.N.C.L.E. agents actually drive an Oldsmobile on the program?
The IMCDB (Internet Movie Cars Data Base) website indicates that the U.N.C.L.E. agents never actually drove an Oldsmobile of any type: https://www.imcdb.org/m57765.html
Still... the CORGI is pretty cool! And so are 1961 Oldsmobile 88s!
I remember McCallum hosting a TV show when I was a kid that, in addition to discussing the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull, was the first time I heard about the Mayan Calendar prediction that the world might end in December 2012. For a lot of years I looked forward to that date with mixed anticipation and dread. I admit to feeling disappointed when nothing untoward happened. It woulda been kinda cool to witness a dramatic end to the world, even if only for a few minutes.

Yes, I was seriously wondering if he was going to liver forever.
So was I!
For all his other memorable roles he was always Illya Kuryakin to me, I loved 'The man from U.N.C.L,E ' as a kid. McCallum's portrayal of the enigmatic Russian was the perfect counterpart to Vaughn's traditional hero Napoleon Solo.
U.N.C.L,E 's secret HQ behind a ordinary tailor's shop in 'New York's East 40's' was obviously the inspiration for Marvel comics S.H.I.E.L.D HQ hidden under a barber shop too!
I still have my Corgi U.N.C.L,E Oldsmobile but it's not in as nice nick as Hawkeye's so I'll show you this instead!
A 'Man from U.N.C.L,E' ring. I've had it since I was a kid but don't remember where I got it. It was either a bubble gum toy or a give away with breakfast cereal.
Look at it this way and it's Napoleon Solo...
. . . and this way it's Illya Kuryakin!
RIP David McCallum
