I’ve been putting all my guys in these clear display boxes and when boxing the British infantryman. I realised it is probably my least favourite..I don’t really know why..? I think it’s just a bit boring and dosent do anything for me. All the others I’ve boxed up ,every one I’ve looked at I think that is nice.. What is your least favourite..?

Think a lot of people will disagree with your least favourite Dean . I think the later released Basic Soldiers , or the basic Space Ranger figures are likely my least favourites .

If we're talking just the Soldiers of the Century uniforms. . . Luckily for the British infantry the line included the French Resistance! Beret, woolly jumper, jeans and the lamest gun Palitoy ever produced. The poor old Tommy can only ever be second to last thanks to that!

Well, posed like that he looks like he’s just standing in line for his first day of school. Hope he has his lunch and extra pencils in that knapsack! All joking aside he’s a good basic infantryman; he just looks plain standing next to say a para or anyone in a camouflaged uniform. Trying to think of least favorite I have. I know that I sold or traded my aviation detachment since I didn’t really like them.

In fairness to the poor old Tommy uniform it was never going to compete with the likes of the Germans, Some nameless Ministry of Defence taylor vs Hugo Boss. Nuff said!

I always thought that the German uniforms are a little too much for modern warfare. Every time I see some German officer wearing his service hat with the uniform, It always makes me chuckle. Probably made allied snipers’ jobs easier too! The funny thing about the British battledress uniform is that the jacket (at least the nicer, more generously cut officer’s version) inspired American generals Dwight Eisenhower and Alexander Vandergrift (who technically saw the nearly identical Australian battledress uniform) to make a semi dress version that was popular with US soldiers during and after the war. Best known as the Ike jacket, although you will occasionally see it referred to as the Vandergrift jacket in the Pacific. Here, Generals Dwight Eisenhower, Omar Bradley, and George Patton wear different versions of this jacket. Patton has opted for the more ostentatious version with the exposed brass buttons.
Here are two of my figures (one officer and one enlisted) wearing Ike jackets:
