There is a guy over at The Trenches named CamoJoe who does some good work making important replacement parts. He had done holster knubs in brass and so I asked him about the possibility of doing some in plastic. As a start, he produced some in resin, but from comments he made I gather that he wasn't happy. His next attempt was to do some in an injection molded plastic. They came out looking great...
He sent some to Big Rat HQ, and I immediately put them to the test. They are a little bit bigger than the original, but that is good for two reasons: they won't break as easily, and they are easily recognized as after market to the collector eye. They are a little lighter gold coloured as well.

Vintage holster knub is on the right.
These holster knubs are fantastic for sprucing up a GI Joe collection. I blew through half a dozen five minutes after opening the parcel from Camo Joe.
