The Right Arm of the Free World

Due to it's excellent service in many western armies during and since the Cold War, the FN FAL (or SLR as you call it) was often dubbed "The Right Arm of the Free World." It was the standard sidearm of British troops from the 1950s until the 1980s, and an Action Man would not look out of place with either one of these or a Sterling. Finding one in 1/6 can be a challenge. Most of the modern versions are either hard to find, expensive or both. Action Man versions are not easy to find over here. At a recent club meeting, I was able to pick up this figure:




The grip is a bit big, (that generation of Joes has massive paws that I usually give a very unflattering nickname to!) so I might have to cut or file it down, but I think he looks the part. The Black Plastic version started seeing service in the 1970s, so it doesn't look too out of place.
