I've been at this one for a while, then put it on hold for a bit, might be time to get back to it before I start anything else.

I used real weathered tiles, from Home Depot, the thing is getting heavy! The inside floor is just a marble look 18"x18" sticky floor tile.

The bed belongs to my 2 Chihuahuas, Poquito and Diego, it's an American Girl Doll bed from Ikea, perfect size for them! Here they are with my daughter Michelle!

One reason why I put it on hold was just that, I don't plan on using any more tiles, too heavy, I'm trying to get the insulation board cut, then simulate stone on that, once I get it cut and shaped I need to scribe where the stones would be then come up with a good way to make it look similar to the real stone. A bit of a setback, but I'm working on it.

Any tips appreciated. I'd love to get it finished and out of my kitchen once and for all.

The only thing I have tried in the past is if you use spray paint on isolation board, the paint eats into the board. That can leave a stone like look. Once the paint has dried you need to paint it with pva glue (wood glue) to seal it, then paint to the desired colour. I hope this helps mate Very Happy

I know that gentle heat from a heat gun works well bringing out a stone like texture on styrofoam, but I'm not sure on this stuff. So far it has taken paint well. it is the 8'x 4' tongue and grooved foam insulation board used on houses before putting on new siding, not sure where it might apply in the UK???

It's easy to work with in most cases, I have a few of the textured spray paints, but haven't experimented much yet.

Gotta get busy I guess!

Thanks, Rick
