Mark, As you should know, Hasbro licensed GI Joe to other countries in the late 70s and Brazil was one of them. That being said, the figure was released here with the name of Falcon (nothing new here) by Estrela and they used the adventure team line (we never had the original GI Joe or the adventure team with fuzzy head and old Joes bodies body/hard hands, just the muscle body, fuzzy head, kung fu grip ones).

Initially we had two released: the land adventurer and the man of action. But these figures were just labelled "Falcon", it was like they were all the same guy with and without bead.

Estrela also released a third figure with the beard and beardless Falcons, Torak (grey guy with silvery head), the "enemy of Falcon". Details about Torak were minimum at best, but one of LP discs with adventures claimed he was an alien invader. By the time that Falcon arrived here Sci Fi was a hit again thanks to Star Wars and Torak was designed based on that influence. BUT at this point the entire line was all about Adventure Team kits.

In the 1980, Estrela stepped forward and released the eagle eyes version here. And the catch was that they also introduced a whole line of science fiction totally developed and designed here in Brazil. Condor, the red guy, came a few years after that and this time we had his origin in a mini comics: he was another "agent" friend of Falcon that had his face destroyed by Torak. Falcon saved him and reconstructed his face using cybernetics, turning him into a red skinned, cyborg-like adventurer that also devoted his life to fight Torak.

Great looking Figures! I'm always fascinated by Joe's foreign cousins! A few Falcon have popped up for sale; but they're out of my price range. You should be proud of your collection! Can't wait to see future adventures!
