Wash your mouth out!! Everyone knows Palitoy were the kings of the GI Joe licensees! What's the story behind this? 'Better' is usally 'earlier' as illustrated by uniform material getting thinner with later issues etc. Does this radio predate the AM version or was it just the subject of some redesign like Geyper heads? A great piece by the way! _________________ Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

| It's later than the UK version . The insides are just the same. It even has the Uk version on the box! The aerial is sturdier too. The geyper version was a complete redesign- the records are bigger . Ill take some pics showing all the variants. _________________ | |

Thanks! It quite interesting to see which items in the GI Joe/AM ranges other countries used in their versions of Joe. GAJ , Action Team and Geyper catalogues always look an amazing, eclectic mix of stuff, especially when you see they used some things Palitoy ignored. The backpack signal light is a good example. The kommando-empfänger/field radio must have involved a lot more work and cost too as it wasn't just a case of repackaging but the records had to rerecorded in a different language too. Maybe this longer time in development gave them the opportunity to tweak the case design too! _________________ Life moves pretty fast. | I really like the continental stuff. They seemed to follow the adventure team idea and went less military. Where army uniforms were released they became more outfits for adventurers in different climates etc. Germany released many army uniforms with UN arm bands to hide the aggressive side I guess. Everyone had names too, to emphasise the 'team' image. Less so with geyperman. He seems closer to palitoy AM. _________________

| A Plattenspieler by any other name is still...cool. Thanks for the pics and review. It is interesting to see these European variants. I probably saw this a couple years ago, but the joy of aging makes it all new again... I enjoyed seeing the Geyperman version too! Thanks, Brian | |
