| Thanks to a heads-up from Reddragon I have a new recruit to my every growing Redbox army (Be afraid Tom K, be very afraid!) A Redbox Medic. Gotta love the off centre red cross! Apparently his medical speciality is vice and crush injuries! I've heard of the combat weary, thousand yard stare but this guys eyes look positively haunted, still life was grim and usually very short for a 1960's Redbox soldier! Jazzed-up with a flag! ...and last but not least, Medic has a message for anyone who hasn't voted in the Best looking VAM contest yet... _________________ Life moves pretty fast. | Great example of a decent quality vintage knockoff.
I remember that 1965 and 1966 were years where the knockoffs were almost as good -- or on par -- with Hasbro's accessories. After 1967 the decline was fairly rapid.

| Nice Redbox head sculp, Steve! It looks slightly different than the very early usual ones (thicker paint). I had some great adventures with my Redbox figures back in the day, even after tightening Mr Rebox's Polar jacket hood and his head kept popping out of the neck hole. A memorable moment for me with this figure was in the snow (69?) i think. My local sweet shop (we used to call it) used to have all the Knock Off boxed figure sets on the top shelf, and the carded uniforms on a rack. Great times, great memories and sunny days _________________ clivvers - saviour of the huMAM race @ MAMageddon 2009 - 2099 @ clivvers MAM Nation: | |

Yeah the winter of 69/70 was a bad one. I got the aurora wolfman model kit that xmas and remember using it as an action figure and playing with it in the snow. As you say, great times, great memories! _________________ Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
