Badly cut up Green Beret Dickie Scarf Repaired

I've just recently been given a badly damaged ( Cut in half and wripped) Green Beret Dickie Scarf so I have had a go at repairing it, using good old Wonderweb (The iron on tape used to take the bottom of trowser legs and clothes up without needing to sew them) well the glue form the tape does soak through when heated but its at leased joined everything back together and is again a useable Dickie Scarf





Here it is in pretty poor state, but with the Dickie being a double layer of the silky material, I was bale to feed wonderweb inside both pieces and hold them together, I then placed a damp cloth over the scarf prior to aplying a hot iron onto the damp cloth for about 8 seconds (until the damp cloth was dry)





Here's the repaired Dickie it's not perfect and the glue from the wonderweb has discoloured the scarf, but it's re joined and patched the virtually destroyed scarf so I'm pretty pleased with the outcome, but for belts and braces I also wonderwebbed another bit of cloth onto the back of the scarf just for added strength

And here he is out in the Jungle in his New Dickie

Cheers Guys it was a bit hit and miss because when you covered it with the damp cloth you didnt know iff it was still all lined up It did end up a little bit off set and the shakey hands didn't help
