| Hi Guys One of the things I've been inspired to do by you guys, in particular by Dal & Steve aka SJK, is to give the CO11 (Childhood Original 11) a bit of TLC. So Starting with Black & N01 - I played around with their characters and wanted them to have a distinctive look. Here are the results. Black first Here he borrows Captain Scarlets hat. I think this could be look for Scarlet himself ! I've since added a brown leather jacket for Black. Next I moved on to N01 . He is an original Action Soldier- Army thru and thru so I wanted to keep him in that 'mode' Next I thought about my Sailor - so here he is .Still a work in progress. So having had an initial go here are the CO11 -attempt 1 Sgt Gunner 2.0 -Basic soldier look. N01 & Lt Tommy Gunn Black (in his new jacket), "No Name" & General Custer. Scarlet & Commander ( now sadly silent) and Blonde . I wanted give Commander a updated look but stay true to his AM Talking commander heritage and. Blonde was an action pilot so I've tried to kit him out with a smarter "ground action" look. Scarlett needs a more functional look, Lastly here is 'Red' Jackson with He was my first mail away. He was definately an 'Hasbro' action Soldier so I've tried to give him that 'GI' look. Sailor keeps him company. Here are the guys in pride of place - the downstairs loo ! They are joined by a Silver and Gold Marx Knight. The Silver Knight was a member of CO11 but with Gunner 2.0 that would be 12 ! Perj=haos Gummer 2.0 could be a like Dartanigan in the Three Musketeers A work in progress | |

| Hi Dal,Brian & Ralph, Thanks for the feedback- I never knew I could get so interested in 1/6th fashion Thanks for the tip Dal on Action Force. I missed this part of the AM era out .- Brian I think the Shipwreck character look is deffo the way to go - I'll start the e-bay search straight away - I'm thinking that my new 'era' of VAM also needs a new "childhood 5" - so I'm thinking of "55 Squad." Five new Characters for the new era I'm also thinking of some VAM Adversaries characters - A kind of imagine if VAM was around today what would the "Story" be . I kinda think , for my taste anyway, MAM lost the plot a bit. So here is a contender - Operative Matt Braddock . | |

| 55 squad eh?, sounds fantastic! I have often thought of adding a vam villain, but I always get side tracked. I am still thinking of one day making a rogue vam agent, the one that got left behind perhaps? I might try and put this into practice next year! Really liking the new guy gunner! He looks like he could be a great ally to vam or a nightmare bad guy! Looking forward to seeing which way you go with him . I must admit, my biggest gripe with mam, was they moved them away from Military characters and more into sports extreme? just not my cup of tea at all. (sorry mamsters) But on the upside, it did bring Action Man to a new generation of collectors , so not all bad | |

| Hi Petrododgers The boots come from a set called Special Forces. I've bought a few sets as I think they give good value for uni's weapons etc and a basic figure for other conversions . I got mine direct from china for about £12 per figure Here are some pics of what you get. You may also have see these guys from Argos - Chad Valley Miltary figs - a good cheap source of basic Uni for £19.99 | |

| Top work on updating and developing the old guys! I see we're all influencing you in different ways. - Gunner Munro wrote:

I'll blame Ralph for that one! What ship did your sailor serve on? Not another ex-HMS Dreadnought shipmate like Spud and Hank is he? ..and who the hell would trust a sailor called 'Shipwreck'? The same people that would trust a pilot called 'Plane crash' I suppose! _________________ Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. | |

| Hi Guys Thanks for the inputs - really appreciated. Beatlefan - Red Jackson has that "I've seen some combat" look don't you think. Red was my first mail away. As such he was a bit of 'blank canvas" but soon progressed through the ranks to be a battle hardened VAM. For a while he was a Mountie ( my Mum persuaded me to send for it as part of the star scheme) but that set was never really a favourite. He soon settled down into Action Soldier mode battling his way through adventures with No1 , Blonde ,Commander and No-Name. You can always rely on Red in any mission! Steve, It would be great if he had been a shipmate of Hank and Spud on HMS Dreadnought…but truthfully I can't remember !! I'm thinking I'll have to take the plunge and get his chin re-flocked. The GI Joe knick names do have a ring of "I hope you don't get whet it says on the tin !"- so I'll borrow the "look" and make it a Brit HMS feel- Dreadnought would be a great character name in its own right ! Tom- let me have some pics of your guys and I'll get some inspiration and see how the mission statement is being put into action:lol!: Dal- Black has seen him self on two Mag covers now - ( really great btw-Kudos) - I think the grippers question is coming back again… contracts and riders were mentioned.. Paul- the kit bashing is great fun- Your work is really excellent . I love some of those MAM bashes you have done- . For me when I was a kid most of my VAM adventures started with me tipping up a big cardboard box having a good ''rummage" and kitting each guy up in all-sorts of combos-That was a big part of the fun for me The Black and Red City kit ( 69 FA Cup final ) has to be a project | |

| Great looking crew! The Chad Valley figs look like the early Power Team bodies; but with the later heads. I've bashed several guys using (later) Power Team figs; as the head sculpts are quite nice. This WWII airborne officer uses the same head as your 2nd guy from the left: -Nate | |
