| Question: Does the photo have to have been taken in the designated month (or at least recently) or can it be one from a while back as long as you have not entered it before? Sometimes you might have a couple you really like but of course you can only enter just one each month. |

I guess that "rule" is more of a guideline, eh? With "humorously rude" being an allowable exception. Have the monthly competitions been running continuously since 2012, or have there been periodic breaks in the action? _________________ ... DAVE

Any photo can be entered from any time as long as it has not been entered before. As for no rude entries, that's more of a guideline, carry on style is fine, but we don't want anything outrageously rude. i.e, porn shots. As for how long it has been running, since we opened, but sadly when photobucket crashed a while back, we lost most of the older entries . Hope it helps

Carry On, Ammo! Many years ago I worked as a "Master Control Operator" (sounds much cooler than it is) at a small, independent television station. For a while the station was running some of the Carry On films late at night, which is how I, as an American, became familiar with Sid James and the ribald mayhem of the Carry On series, which is largely unknown here in the States. _________________ ... Many thanks, ...it's just that I had a few that I thought came out well but we are allowed just the one entry per month. - Blondeactionman wrote:

Just NOT "Carry On up the Onsen"...eh? - SCU_HQ wrote:

Unfortunately the PC Outrage Brigade have now condemned the "Carry On" style of humour to that same place that Benny Hill's work ended up. One of my personal favourites is "Make Mine Mink" (1960) with all the familiar cast at their very best. The series tends to deteriorate off towards the end. |

Never heard of "Carry on" until a few years ago searching for British films on YouTube and watched a few. I get it now, but wouldn't have known what Dal was talking about before. Now, Benny Hill, we used to watch reruns of his show every night on cable back in the 80's Carry on AMMO!!!

SO much of his humour was based on a sexual view of female bodies, ....largely on big "boobs". (And to think he'd never even seen a Phicen back then!) |

| "The hills are particularly lovely this time of year!" "Wot's that?" you ask? "A Benny Hill action figure?" Yes, indeed! Or, actually, a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang "Toymaker" figure, but... the Toymaker was portrayed by Benny Hill! _________________ ... DAVE

Unfortunately he's an odd size - five inch, I think. Too big for 3-3/4 scenes, too small for 1:6 scale. _________________ ... DAVE

| Maybe some forced perspective... He's a scale two and a half feet...yeah a little small...maybe a chubby elf? You're making me want to watch that movie again, been a few years but we used to watch it with our son a lot. Interesting cast for sure with Benny Hill, Gert Frobe, Desmond Lewellen and some other interesting characters I can't remember just now. Plus Truly Scrumptious/Sally Ann Howes, didn't forget her. Hey, speaking of wot's that, what is that in the lower left corner??? Reminds me of a Tinto Brass movie I just watched with a lot of scenes like that. | |

Dave, I never cease to be amazed at some of the amazing figures you seem to own! For even more variety, you should join us over at the Dolly Market forum! The Benny Hill as the Toymaker figure was packaged together with a Grandpa Potts figure: "It's th' posh, posh travellin' life, th' travellin' life for me!" . . . (This topic is now firmly and fully derailed! Happens every time, dunnit?) _________________ ... DAVE

Can't be Benny Hill in your photo above! His eyes would definitely NOT be looking in that direction! |

| I would suggest discussing the contest rules in the moderator forum, and then perhaps open the question up to a membership vote.
Current rules specify 1/6 figures. _________________ ... DAVE
