| A Combat-Weary GI Joe is walking back to Battalion HQ, as the day turns to night. He is the only man left from his patrol. GI Joe takes a small rest against a tree, and admires the peace of the environment around him. This one area is unmarred. Along the way, GI Joe finds a battlefield grave at the foot of a hill. He stops to pay his respects to a man he never knew, yet he gives his never-ending respect to this man. As GI Joe continues his walk to Battalion HQ, he silently recites some Tennyson, and thinks about what he has done, what he is doing, and what he will do. | |
