ActionYankee's Action Man Universe

A few of you have complimented me on how thought-out my Action Man fiction is. You ain't seen nuthin' yet.

This is the place were you can see all of my fictional things, places, and events I have created for my Action Man Universe. You are welcome to join it if you wish, and if you have any suggestions, please let me know, I'm eager to add more.

Fictional Countries

Bang Sathanthi
A small country in southeast Asia, a peninsula and an island separated by a wide but shallow channel.

It has lots of Jungle, and is hot and humid. Lots of rivers cutting through the landscape.
The capital city of Phunoa is the only "big" city, the rest are mostly just small villages.
Bang Sathanthi became the host of a conflict in 1966, starting as just a Civil War, but when the "Revolutionary Army of the New Sathanthi" (the bad guys) Claimed to have Chemical Weapons, the U.S. and the U.K. got involved.

Algun Lado
A South American country, Algun Lado had it's own Civil War in 1952, 53, and 54.

It has some jungle, and it's humid.
There is a lot of political unrest.

Makan Mastan
Country in the Middle East.

Evenly divided between Mountains and Desert, Makan Mastan can get as hot as 42 degrees Celsius and as cold as 3 degrees Celsius.
Oil-rich.
In 1971 a Religious Conflict broke out. Not to have the oil trade fall behind, the U.K. sent Blue Berets to help get the conflict to an end.

Undevia
Landlocked European country.

Mountains and forest mostly, Dragon Mountain being the most famous.
Can get to be very cold there, and snows a ton in the winter months.
Not without a Civil War of their own, Undevian Nationalists began to take power in 1973.

Mahala Fulani
Landlocked African nation.

Hot, some dry desert, a little mountain range, mostly savanna.
Controlled mainly by Warlords, some rebel presence against them.

Doragon' airando (TRANSLATED: Dragon Island)
Island East of Japan.

Not part of Japan, they gave it up in 1958. Leftover bunker.
Forests, volcano, and cliffs.
Now mainly controlled by unknown terrorist mercenaries.


Things

Her Majesty's Elite Task Force (The Blue Berets)
Elite Army outfit, specialists in everything. Spiritual continuation of the British Commandos.

Her Majesty's Elite Task Force: Special Operations Division (Black Beret Brigade, S.O.D.)
You thought the Blue Berets were elite? The Black Beret Brigade is like the U.S. Special Forces and Navy Seals had a baby, that was trained by the SAS and the KGB.

Black Beret Operators usually work alone or in small groups, used mainly for infiltration and undercover work, but can be deployed with Blue Berets to compliment their fighting force.

Yearly requirement for Operators is to take the British Elite Marksmanship Evaluation (see below).

British Elite Marksmanship Evaluation (BEME Test)

300 total possible points. 200 minimum for S.O.D. Qualification.

Accuracy-at-Distance Tests (6 rounds given, 1 to sight, 5 to test)

Rifles (125 Possible Points)
300 meters
600 meters
900 meters
1200 meters
1500 meters

Assault Rifles and Submachine Guns (100 Possible Points)
50 meters (each type of weapon)
100 meters (each type of weapon)

Handguns (25 possible points)
50 meters.


Close Quarters Battle (CQB) Test (Assault Rifles, Submachine Guns, and Handguns Only)

Brief pop-up target filled course of twists and turns. Friend-or-Foe section. Score based primarily on time, although accuracy does have a role in the Friend-or-Foe section. Only one full magazine per weapon type. (50 Possible Points)



Optional for regular British Army.

One-Time requirement for Members of Her Majesty’s Elite Task Force, thought it can (and is encouraged to) be taken multiple times.

Mandatory yearly examination for Operators in the Special Operations Division.



Events that never Happened (and what replaced it)
Korean Conflict - instead, the Algun Lado Civil War.

Vietnam War - instead, the Bang Sathanthi Civil War.

Siege of Sarajevo - instead, Undevian Civil War.

The CQB Test should take a minute to complete, each second over is a deduction of one point. Accuracy deductions are two points for each of the four possible "friendly" targets hit.

It's a very detailed world you have conjured up there, it's an online Action Man/G.I. Joe roleplay game (RPG) Now that will be something perfect for this forum

I think the new MAM Adventure Team (MAMAT) should also be involved as well, and also include a few forgotten and dangerous islands: Kong Island & Crazy Beast Island, both have pirate treasures hidden and both full of dangerous traps

Kiumbe Island
Somewhere near the African coast in the Indian Ocean.
{NO MAP EXISTS}
Nothing is known for sure about Kiumbe Island, just rumors of creatures not known or remembered, of unbelievable size and power.


Isla del Tesoro (TRANSLATED: Treasure Island
{NO MAP YET}
Rumored hiding place of countless pirates' treasures.


Other Agencies
International Adventure Team
Group of 15 or so, primarily American, mostly ex-military, presently researchers and explorers with a goal of bettering the world.

Office of Domestic Security
America's secrets-keeper and peeping Tom, all rolled into one. All the best and worst parts of the FBI and the CIA (both nonexistant in my universe) under the same name.

MAMAT sounds fun clivvers, but I'm keeping my guys in the 60's and 70's (I also have no MAM).

You're welcome to show us what happens in the 2000's and the present!

The S.O.D. (Special Operations Division) has been renamed. It is now known as the Special Operations Service, seeing as how many things over there are capped off with "Service," I think it's a nice fit/change .

And it'll probably make a few of you a little more comfortable .

I like the idea of Isla del Tesoro, i can imagine there's cursed treasure there with booby traps, i visualize it being a sunny paradise island! A very intresting universe indeed and ideal for a novel of some kind

Fictional Island

Kalt Sæti
International island Just below the arctic tree line.
{NO MAP YET}
There is a research base on the Island, built by the Germans in 1951, technically it's called Research Station 31, but everyone calls it "Ice Haus."

There is an international team of researchers on rotation on the island, representing 15 different countries.

Fictional Country

Ile Parquet
Island chain nation West of Algun Lado.
{NO MAP YET}

Discovered by French Explorers in 1669. There's 7 islands in the chain, and the primary language spoken is French.



Fictional Conflict

The War of Ile Parquet (1981/82)
In 1979 the USSR moves Guns Ammo, and Soviet troops their, to train the locals, and convince them the US is not an ally.

in 1981, the USSR moves nuclear missiles to the islands, without previous provocation from the US. The US Instantly retaliates, by sending US troops down to take care of it. After a brief two month island hopping campaign, the fighting there lasts for 14 months.



This happened in my Action Man Universe instead of The Invasion of Grenada, and the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Updated the first post, added a map of Mahala Fulani.


Note that my maps have been made from pre-existing maps, by augmenting real world borders. I have also gone back and found the appropriate names for bordering nations as they were in the 1970's, which may not match up to today's names.

some brilliant - stuff - just been bringing myself up to speed with the AY universes'- some top locations to get the Blue and the Black Beret's doing some operations

I'll have to start working up a better backstory for Munrovia
