Part 6 - Kitting out Parade …

The Parade assemble.



Lt Tim Gunn- Tom’s cousin, address the Training Squad.



LTG: “ Well done men!  Your Training is complete and you are now ready to join the ranks of 14 Platoon, D Coy the 2nd Bn Munrovian Volunteers.”

Morgan & CH 11 Action Commander look on.



AC: That was an outstanding job you and Colour Hart did with those guys.
CM: “its was touch and go at times AC, Gunner 1.0’s knees were shot by the end of the shoot!”

The core of 14 Platoon glance across at  the ‘newbies’



Corporal Muzio” Blimey Ed, is that a Power in their ranks? What is the world coming too?”
Corporal ‘Mad stare’ Stark : “ Don’t worry, Karl, we can sort him out when we get back to barracks . I’ll give Hank & Joe a call at SKJ HQ. They will know what to do”





LTG:  “ Men take a look . There are your Blue Action Berets ! – You are the first to be awarded them in the Munrovians ! Wear them with pride as they were introduced in the Palitoy Golden Years”



LTG: “Here we have N01 0f the CH11. He is VAM to look up to,  a ’66 vetran."



N01 : “Men of the Fuzz head era. I like you was forgotten for nearly 20 years, just a head in a plastic box. Then I was restored to a Cotswold body, stood on duty with some of my CH11 brothers in the downstairs Loo.-and not a single one us had a gas Mask !
You too enjoyed many adventures of your own with your previous owners. Bring that experience to your new role as Munrovain Action Soldiers. Make them proud of you !”

Blonde , Black & No Name , CH11 operative take in the scene.



Black:” Absolutley amazing …”

NoName:” Aye, it's the sight of a dream coming true. Can you imagine what must be going through their heads? All of them forgotten, stuffed in cardboard boxes in the loft or a cold garage- often in bits.. but now here they are back on active service. Just think of the fun we could have had if these guys had been with us on the mud flats of Bardsea or swimming off Weymouth beach back in the day “

Black : “ It fair makes my heart weep…”

Blonde “ What’s that Black going soft on us? “

Black: “Nah ! its just why have they got grippers and I’m still stuck with pinchers ?"

Blonde: ‘Groan’

Black: “Have I told you about the infamous fall from Gunners bedroom window incident ? … If I had had grippers it would have been a different story …Now then there I was …”



LTG: “ Behind me are the 14 platoon survivors of the Dragonian surprise attack. Corporals Muzio & Stark  will be you new section commanders.
Tupper and Henderson you are now Black beret Lance Corporals. – Congratulations !”



Baldy Jackson and White scar Ryan at the rear whisper
Jackson : “Look a bit fancy to me”
WSR: “ Don’t whinge mate – we are getting new weapons to,  up gunning to SLR’s !!

BJ : “At least we will get to keep our  Action Man Berets- Those Blue ones look a bit poncy to me !”

To the side of the parade Cpl Theo ‘Talker’ Gunn & Gi Joe Sgt John Doe look on.



CTG: “ Its amazing – I’m left in the back of cupboard for 15 years, then I’m out and one of the first people I meet is Cousin Tim! ‘

SJD: “ Yeah,Sweet.  These guys look like they are starting to get their act together. Still, I’m sure they can benefit from some of my Hasbrovian insights – Hurrah !”



“Get ready lads we need to help the Colour man with kit issue “

Braddock eyes up the some of the weapons.



Braddock: (thinks) “ I need to get an order in PDQ , if I’m going to bring Squad 5 up to Rouge Troopers Viper Team & BAM's CH5 standards!"



LTG : “ Men you are dismissed – Report to Colour Hart for kit issue. Assemble again when kitted out on the Kitchen Top Parade ground !”

"Platoon ! Platoon Diiismiss !"


The parade breaks up



Here the recruits grab their gear.



Smudger Smith: Will this chafe ? it looks a bit rough ?

Dreadnought 2 “ Oi ! don’t forget the pouch !- sourced at great expense !”

Over to the other corner the vets swap out their M1’s for the trusty SLR. All these have been re-barreled in the Munrovian armoury



Baldy Jackson : “Got me an all black one”
Nate Newton: “ Probably a knock off Jacko-but it still looks cool”



Jason Aston: “Right that's a fiver and a packet of Spangles you owe me Pallister- you do like it better than your M1 ! “

Pallister “ Spangles ??  You’ll be lucky Jase ! They haven’t been seen since about 1982 !! “

Absolutely awesome Gunner!, the boys have made it! and not only that, they survived your drill Sargent! . Each and everyone of them should be proud! Jake has promised to send a message to the boys on their success soon!
