| Hi Guys Sorry about the misrepresentation of ranks ! - What was I thinking ??? I'll put myself on jankers immediately sah ! Quite a simple one , this is one of the chaps in bottom left looks like he has a modified GA uni with a Russian helmet? Basic trooper. This is GA Jacket tucked into GA pants to try and replicate the look which looks like a short waist length jacket. I've used brown long boots whilst I'm sorting out the grey boots . He has a russian helemet and I've given him an SA80 . The guy in the picture looks like he has an M16 . The chap next to him looks like he has a grey one ? Just playing with this basic Uni and taking the theme of using what would be existing kit . Missile Assault.Uses Armoured Car commander basic helmet with the addition of some MAM goggles armed with the trusty Bazooka. Para: Close quarter combat.Addition of the German Para helmet and a space ranger (?) weapon. He holds the bayonet from the GA webbing set. | |

| They look great! The Ground Assault uniform is the highlight of the original release; and you've used it well. Your figures are also great examples of the adage "less is more." I might have to track down one if those uniforms!

Actually I think it's getting the balance right of 'Just enough' ... and nothing too fiddly that drops off when out in the field ( like it did first time around back in the day ) | |

| Top work Steve! That's the look I was aiming for....and you nailed it while I was busy messing around with dye!! My version. Made from raided existing kit just like the original prototypes. I'm not sure how successful I feel I've been with the dye job. The 'grey' has come out very dirty brown but it does go with the Russian helmet quite well. With the 1984 uniform now completed, Major Bradley receives further orders from Lt.Col Cliff Sabre. He's being sent on a top secret mission to do with the lost 1984 range! ....keep watching this space! _________________ Life moves pretty fast. | By golly young SJ, you have nailed it !! Major Bradley looks great in his VAM84 look. The dying of the GA Uni is defiantely the way to go - Now you have done the grey one I'm going to have a go at the green one . I have a GA Uni coming in from e-bay:D I have just had a go at painting up some boots , the German Para helmets etc - so will give them a second coat etc tomorrow and hopefully get them into a 'bash next week. I'm thinking though that for practical reasons the traditional long Brown/Black boots work really well. I think the kit layout here is this is the way to go. The Russian helmet I think is my favourite between that and the German Para. What colour shade of grey dye did you use? was it Draylon ? I'm intrigued where Major Bradley's VAM84 mission will take him next | |
