| Hi, guys, Well, as some of you should remember, I joined the forums some years ago looking for information regarding adapting a reissued action man head into a modern body. In all this time, I kept doing tests and experiments. Pushing forward to now: I started learning Blender. I am a graduated graphic designer myself no a product designer but I decided work with Blender in order to project and later print my own 1/6 pieces, especially the ones I need for my medieval/fantasy based klitbashes. SO one idea just popped to my mind: do my own GI Joe neck adapter wich would be able to fit the heads into modern bodies. Of course we have a problem here: the diameter of all these models are not the same, but I started the project with the masterpiece edition wich has one of the smallest diameters of all (40th anniversary GI Joe is huge!). The difference between MP and 40th anniversary action man is not that great and I think the piece may work for both. That being said, i am sharing with you this project in very early stage. Here is the pic. I am still learning how to work 100% with the problem but in this sketch I happily managed to accomplish what I was looking for in form and design. The piece is solid, it has the conector up and is a little hollow below allowing us to place over most neck connectors in the market. Remember: I am NOT that skilled, I am still on basics. So far, the project demands that you glue the piece in the connector but they are very cheap and you can have one piece after that wich can be interchangeble in many bodies. I still need to polish the project, adjust it to right size and, of course, print it to see how it is working. I am finishing another project first, a fantasy helmet for my DnD paladin kitbash but when an idea comes to my mind, I have to put it out. I hope to keep you guys updated about this.

| The later but as I said the reissued ones, the 40th AM sold by moddellers loft. That is why I did not referred to them as vam. Sorry, I just noticed that I mistyped MAM, it was supposed to be AM. My bad, I am editiing the post. Thank you.
But the project is being designed using a masterpiece Gi Joe head as also mentioned. No modern GI Joes or "MAM".

| OK, I just didn't want anyone to get confused. Here's a list of what I see the reproductions referred to as: 40th AM = VAM40 50th AM = VAM50 (Also saw someone refer to it as "NAM," (New Action Man) but didn't like it as "New" is subjective/comparative) Masterpiece Edition = ME Timeless Collection = TC 40th GI Joe = Joe40 Hope it helps! | |

Hope it helps! Hm... Ok, but I am used to these terminology just a little different somtimes (like MP for masterpiece). What happened was a matter of bad typing not confusing (I typed "M"AM and kept using thtough all post). I am sure that when I use MP after mentioning masterpiece edition and 40th anniversary GI Joe or 40th GI Joe/AM everyone here understand what i mean. The reason why i thanked you was because thanks to your post I noticed that I typed "M"AM all over it. Cheers. | |
