| Great new additions. Really like the flocked MAM. Gives them far more depth of character. Your Duke looks better with the toned down colour I think. I re-flocked mine closer to the original hue but still slightly darker, yours works better I think. _________________ Real heroes don't die... they just reload.

Looks good to me. Although I think I'd be inclined to trim the eyebrows. _________________ NEW STORAGE FACILITY IS FINALLY FINISHED CHRIS

I’m really liking the veteran in his new outfit, gear and weaponry. He sure has one big knife. What else are you thinking to add to him ? _________________ I’m Dedicated to serving Professor Gangrene as One of His Loyal Minions.

Different pistol...automatic instead of a revolver. _________________ NEW STORAGE FACILITY IS FINALLY FINISHED CHRIS

| Some men actually retain dark eyebrows after their hair whitens, but perhaps you could get a very fine brush and give him a few white hairs in each brow, rather than going the full Santa Claus white?

| Really enjoyed seeing your troops! Have to say that shaving is most definitely NOT in fashion with your blokes right now. Just a few bare-faces, very much in the minority!
I think the small white touches in the eyebrows look wonderful and tie in with the beard just right, without going all "polar bear"! The shot of him sitting on the log is very effective. Isn't it marvellous how nature so conveniently (for us!) reproduces itself in miniature, and our own eyes can instantly reduce a full sized tree to 1/6 scale simply by using the small figure as a gauge?
Still somewhat trying to come to terms with seeing a MAM head on a VAM body. The arms look a little odd to me, being far more familiar with my own MAMs build, but the finished product does make a fine addition to your collection.
My favourite of your flocks has to be the bloke in the woollen beanie front left in your group photo. The multi-coloured flocking has worked so well and given him such amazing character! Well done! |

| Thanks fellas. I do love getting out in the woods with my figures..and I'm lucky enough to have it right on my doorstep. I agree about the eyebrows..less is definitely more I was talking to Alex about the vam body earlier tonight..he finds it too skinny too. To me the mam body looks like a pumped up steroid user whereas the vam looks like a super fit super soldier, but it's what I grew up with..so I would say that wouldn't I LeStryge..the figure you refer to is Patrick...so named because as soon as my wife saw him she decided it looked just like me..so he got my middle name. _________________ NEW STORAGE FACILITY IS FINALLY FINISHED CHRIS | |

It's not so much the skinny/pumped up variance that worries me,....rather it's the way that later MAM designers managed to make visually better joints such as elbows, knees and wrists. Of course lovers of VAM just accept his physical idiosyncrises and enjoy them. But for me (sorry to say this), VAM does look a bit sad in shorts.....he's definitely at his very best in long pants and long sleeves. - Rogue-Trooper wrote:

Well he is a very fine looking bloke, so dignified but undoubtedly fearless. Amazing how the flocking can add such difference to what is basically the identical figure. One of your very best and most effective I think. In art there's a saying that you always paint yourself.......could this apply to our own kitbashing? If not yourself as you really look , but yourself as you see yourself or would like to be seen? A question for all of us: When you played with VAM/MAM as a child did you see him as "you" having the adventures, or did you see him as a separate entity, perhaps one you wished to be? |
