Great work Dal, and great fun working together on this. To boot, working on it inspired me to watch "Dr. No" last night, for the first time in many years. When I watch the early Connery James Bond films now, I am always struck by how good he was in the role, and especially his ability to convey messages through facial expression. He could put really murderous looks on his face when he wanted to, as well as very worried or dumbfounded. He was the best Bond, period. Maybe that's why I like paying homage to him in these little stories.

Thanks Gary! it was huge fun to do! Plus I got the chance to photograph Jake on his new body! I have to say, Dr. No is my favourite Bond movie, I like the others but that is the one that always sticks out for me. Connery was an amazing Bond, and set the bar high for all others that followed him

The scene that is played out here...the one where Bond kills Professor Dent is the one that MADE Connery as James Bond. He does NOT have to kill him, but he does and in very cold blood. Not a hint of hesitation or remorse. Perhaps he's just fed up with the number of times people have tried to kill him already at this point. Perhaps he thinks Dent will not give him any useful information...He has already made up his mind that the man is is really after is Dr. No and plans to travel to his island later.
There is one blooper in the scene however...and that is that when he fires the first of two shots, he has a cigarette in his mouth, but not when he fires the second. The reason is apparently, that when they film this, he actually fires a total of five shots, but the middle three shots, during which he pauses to put down his cigarette, was edited out of the final cut as it made him seem too cruel.

That would have been an excellent sequence!
It's kind of like when they ret-conned Star Wars to make Greedo appear to shoot first. Han shoots first! That was the character: mercenary and merciless.

I would have loved to see Bond shoot Dent five times also....but it was 1962 and they were probably worried about being labelled "overly violent."

I think the story is very satisfying in that it establishes a number of things:
1. That Kamiko and Jake have a deep mutual respect for one another and do not want to see the other come to harm.
2. That both know that Redbox is without honor and not trustworthy.
3. That despite having been perfectly honest about wanting to kill Redbox, and despite assurances on her honor that she will not move against him unless Jake sanctions it, Kamiko has nonetheless decided for not to keep her newly formed alliance with Monday Jones a secret. There could be a lot of reasons for this, including that she suspects there is a spy within BAM HQ and that if she did reveal it to Jake, Redbox might somehow find out. It could also be that so long as Kamiko and Monday don't move to kill Redbox, Jake has no need to know of the alliance.

Well, I'm glad someone's read them. It doesn't seem however that too many bad guys are getting recruited.

Completely off-topic, but, I love Kamiko's 1940s style wristwatch!

I’m really enjoyed the collaborative messages back and forward between Kamiko and Mr Redbox. I think there are secret romantic feelings for each other maybe without each other recognising there is something between them. It’s definitely feels like a love hate relationship between them two tehe.

It's an interesting theory! Though I doubt Kamiko would agree!
