Modern Journalist

This another more recent modern Journalist . He is more a stills and story man , but does have a small video cam in one of those bags , but I for got to get pics of him with it .....

Modern... as in, 1980s maybe? When wrap-around shades were a thing and photographers still carried full-size cameras with auto-winders or battery grips?

(Now I'm feeling a wave of 1980s-90s nostalgia, and I'm desperately missing the glorious years of Night Flight and Up All Night on the cable USA Network. I don't suppose the forum members in the UK and Australia remember those; you may have had something even better or more bizarre. I guess I'm also missing being young enough to actually enjoy the absurdity of those shows, and thinking wearing wrap-around shades was super cool.)

Yeah, most modern photojournalists use full size cameras, with battery grips.
However this camera is based on the EOS 1D, it's a complete body, with the
vertical grip as part of the camera. Some are now using the mirrorless cameras,
it's something that is gaining in popularity as they are finally getting features
of the larger cameras. Photojournalists need speed out of their cameras.

Yes photojournalists are pack animals. Because the one piece of equipment
you don't carry with you is usually the one you end up needing.

Great figure! Considering the bullet proof vest I'm guessing he's a war
photographer. But I have to admit, I've never seen a bag that has a leg strap
like a holster. When I was able to get a second camera for my figure, it came
with all of the lenses, but the body didn't have the neck strap.
I wanted to get the body with the 300mm lens. But they seem a bit hard to
find and when you do they cost quite a bit. But I'm loving the figure!

Well he is modern for my usual takes Dave .

I got quite a few figures Barry , some are quite old now , though as here they still have a place . They all came off eBay or from Action Man / Figure days some time or other . I am quite fussy on head sculpts , I think they can definitely help to make or break a figure .
