Slight problem. The hat from the gambler won't fit on the head of the steampunk fellow. So I guess he will just have to be a steampunk cowboy

Think I would lose the steam punk look for a Cowboy . Tern them into a couple of crooks , and bring in a Marshall to sort them out .

I think I'm with Chip on the steampunk look.
I think the gambler's hat should be a bit taller, and the other should be the marshall. Kind of a Rooster Cogburn from True Grit.

Great ideas there. I love the idea of the fella on the right becoming a Rooster Cogburn type figure. The steampunk hat has already been reassigned to a new figure. He will become my steampunk figure. My Gambler has a new hat n gun rig being made for him. The third figure will be based on James Caan's character from El Dorado complete with sawn off shotgun in a holster...this is where the cut down top hat idea comes from.

Got these little beauties heading my way. Hand made Preacher hat and gunbelt from Pale Rider. Not cheap, but amazing quality.

I've seen that movie, wasn't James Caan's character named after a state? Nevada? And he carried the sawed off shotgun because he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a pistol
Are you planning on putting the new hat and gunbelt on the gambler, or the figure with the eyepatch?

Indeed. James Caan's character is called Mississipi. And you're right he is great with a knife but terrible with a gun.
The new hat n holster are for the gambler.

Change of plan. The man in black....the gunfighter ...didn't look right with a brown holster. And the fella in brown..the marshal.... didn't look right with a black one. So I swapped them. Still a few bits to sort. A tie and a new watch for the gunfighter. And a new watch, marshal's badge (hopefully) and a hat for the marshal....oh and a black eye patch too.

I was thinking the brown holster would look better on the marshal. The new hat looks great on the man in black. Have you decided to change him from a gambler to a gunfighter? Because of the hat? Is the eyepatch on the marshal not black?
And why new watches? I think the ones you have look great. I have to admit, I don't know where you might find a badge. But with his coat pulled close, you wouldn't be able to see it anyway, if he had one.

Oh, by the way, a local station that shows all western movies and series are showing El Dorado Monday night. I haven't seen it in a while, I will have to watch it.

He seems to be morphing into more of a gunfighter, but he gambles to make money when he's not a gun for hire. The marshal's eye patch is brown at the moment, but I do have a black one....somewhere
The watch chains are just chains with nothing on the end. So I wanted watches on the end. I don't know the quality of the chains on the watches so I may or may not use the ones I already have.
Yeah I get what you're saying about the marshal badge, but I think it would finish off the outfit. I'm not holding out much hope finding one though.
I really enjoyed El Dorado. John Wayne, Robert Mitchum and James Caan...whats not to like I watched Hondo the other day. I'd not seen that before either. Great adventure film and worth watching if you can find it.

I've seen Hondo, but it's been a while. The station that shows westerns telecast a lot of John Wayne movies.

As the AM grippers won't fit in the trigger guard of the guns..... I've been experimenting. I have quite a few AM wrist joints so I drilled out some hands that came with other figures and adapted the wrist joint to fit. I've only done two so far but it seems to work ok

Hmmm, I just had a thought. I wonder if it's possible to find, or how hard it would be to make, a bolo tie for the gunfighter?

Depends.... If you mean the one below. Im in the process of making one.
Where as if you mean this one...which is what I refer to as a bolo tie...then they were introduced much too late for "the old West" I've researched it extensively as I thought I could make one of those quite easily.

The second is what I was thinking. I didn't know they were made later.
As far as I know, the first is called a string tie.

Yeah that's what I would call it too.
Bolo ties weren't invented until the late 1940s.

Wow, learn something new every day.
But I could have sworn I had seen those in old western movies or TV shows.

I’ve been able to use the Geyperman hands to grip revolvers:
The pistol is the version that came with the Rough Rider Teddy Roosevelt. The holster has an opening at the bottom that the long barrel fits through; like Wyatt Earl’s in “Tombstone.”

Yeah me too Daryl I guess it was the usual Hollywood poetic license I wanted a finger on the trigger Nate... Not just holding it
