The Cool Kidz carry Canon! Gotta have that red ring on the "L" lens!

That's a great looking camera, is it based on the 5D?

I have no idea. I’m Nikon user myself.

To me it looks like it could be modeled on either the 5D or the 10D series (currently up to 90D). Factoring in the "unlicensed knock-off artistic liberties" taken with the design, I'd say yes, it's an EOS 5D based on the angle at which the round control knob sits relative to the viewfinder.
Yeah, I'm over-analyzing this by a lot.
The lens could be the popular "L" series EF 24-105mm f/4 with a lens hood (EW 83M).

I'm guessing the camera came with a figure that uses a pro camera, hence my question. My guess is the 5D. Especially with an L series lens. It could the 24-70mm, but it could also be the 16-35mm f2.8L. The silver band is throwing me off, neither of those two lenses has any kind of that. I guess its because of the unlicensed artistic liberties you spoke of, after all the manufacturer would have to get permission and pay royalties for an exact copy.

Camera-fabulous pictures of a photographer actually taking pictures. I’m really liking the look of the camera.

Ah, you’re right, a professional would more likely have one of those two lenses, and carry a dedicated telephoto for longer focal length purposes. Good call.
I wonder if they added a silver/gold band to make the design look a little more Nikon-ish?
Another question: is Hoshi’s side-arm of choice a Glock? A Glock 17 or 19 maybe?

It's a Glock 17. The grip angle on the Glock makes it one of the few that sort of fits the shape of the hands of these smaller figures.

Ah, good info, thanks!
Same model Glock that Steve Zissou's interns carry on board The Belafonte

Nikons and Canons have very different controls. This is definitely a Canon. I would have got a Nikon if they were available. I prefer the build and ergonomics of Nikons.

I’m liking the look and the clothes that Hoshi is wearing. Just the right amount of lack of clothing is just perfect for the jungle environment.

As long as it's a jungle without mosquitos, leaches, spiders, venomous snakes, elephant grass, prickly vines, or any of the other things one usually finds in jungles..... I think her outfit is more suited to Gilligan's Island.
