This figure was released as part of the Valor vs Venom line. According to yojoe.com, it was originally supposed to be an exclusive
for KB Toys in 2003. That apparently fell through, and was released in 2005 through Dollar General stores. I got this one on the bay.
The file card refers to him as Cobra's master of mind control. In the old cartoons of the '80's it also had him as the creator of the Battle
Android Troopers (BATS) and later the creator of the character Serpentor. A completely crappy character in my humble opinion. In this
iteration for the movie he combined human DNA with various animals to make super soldiers.
The figure was in a blister pack type of packaging, this small card was in the blister with the figure.
Photos from yojoe.com show the original figure (left) from around 1986, and a later version that this 1/6 figure is apparently based on.
The original had a monocle, the second seems to have reading glasses.
Front and back, he has the purple pants and jackboots from the original 1/18 figure and lab coat from the later.
The belt has a pistol.
This figure has a monocle like the original 1/18 version, which can be seen hanging in front of his lab coat. It is "stitched" into his ear,
with two stitches on the collar of his coat to help hold it in place. When I first got the figure you could press it into his eye and it would
hold in place, Now, I can't get it to stay. Maybe the plastic of the head sculpt has hardened over time, keeping it from staying? In this
photo it's laying on his shoulder, may be hard to see because it's clear.
Under his coat is a Cobra medallion.
The figure came with a rifle, and the obligatory missile that is fired spring loaded. I don't care for the rifle because of it's bright
red color.
I hate that I couldn't get the monocle to stay on his eye. He looks a lot better, more menacing, when it's there.
