I hadn't seen this in quite some time, but when I happened to think of him, I looked where I thought I had put him and he was there.
This was made by Playmates, dated 1990.Tthe box mentions other figures, Scottie, Sulu and Counselor Troi. I find it interesting one character is a different series than the others.
The box has a flap on the front, a small window on the flap shows the face and the open flap shows the figure. The right side has a slant (seen in the first photo), and is wider at the bottom than the top. This makes it difficult to remove the inner backing and the figure.
The inside of the flap tells the story of the episode. As I recall it was titled The Arena.
The box has a lot of wear. I found this figure on ebay and liked it, so I bought it. I don't have any of the other figures. The body front and back. The body doesn't have a lot of articulation.
The head sculpt.
I happen to notice the feet seemed to be point inward, and looking closer the longer toes are on the outside of the feet. Maybe they were put on at the factory in reverse?
The figure has three accessories. The knife he made during the combat, the communicator that allowed him to talk to Kirk and a staff. It's been a while since I watched this episode. Did he grab a stick to use at the beginning? I can't remember. The communicator doesn't have a clip, would have looked nice clipped to his belt.
Holding the accessories. His left hand is open so the can only hold them in his right hand, which is closed.
Holding the staff, left hand showing that it won't hold anything.
The shoulders and hips move outward as well as front to back, but the hands do not swivel. Knees and elbows move, and the waist will swivel and will rock left to right. Not sure why I picked him up, maybe because I have a couple of astronauts? But I really liked the look of this figure.

Glad you like him SKJ, that area would look a lot like the episode he was in, if it wasn't shot there.

I have since learned that the episode was shot at Vasquez Rocks National Park.
But since that's a four day drive to get there from here, will this suffice?

Since I’m definitely not a Star Trek fan in the slightest and I the Gorn Captain myself I wouldn’t make it from Star Trek , I would make it from my own made up Alien world and buy w group of them. Your Gorn Attack picture Daryl would totally work in black and white. I also can picture Gorn Attack in an alien movie.

I saw what my parents watched on TV, I don't recall them watching Star Trek when we had a black and white TV set. It was a few years later that I watched it, and that was on a color set. So I only remember it in color.
