Hi all

After Action man these have got to be my favourite figure. the reason i feel this is because i think out of all the countries that produced Action Man (or their Name for it) The mexicans really used their own unique stamp on outfits they issued. The head sculpts were fascinating if not ugly but i find them mesmerising.

A while ago when i was looking to buy one of these for my collection after looking everywhere somekindajoe introduced me to this collector in mexico.

Hes a top bloke and even though he dos'nt sell anything he owns through him i found my holy grail but was told thats all i would ever get as they run a site dedicated to Mexican Joes and have opened a museum out there in Mexico.

I thank my friend for letting me post his images on this site for us all to enjoy and hopefully open our eyes to whats out there.

thanks for sharing Dan, although i don't overly like these guys you can definately see that they put their originality into the headsculpt... But is that what mexican's look like??? Look a little like a part shaven 6ft Ewok

although they are strange looking fellows, they do have a certain appeal to them, I really like this one

Great looking outfits these guys have! I really like the skiing medic guy. Damo did you not realise that all mexicans look like a cross between Captain Haddock and Zach Dingle off Emmerdale? Also every other Mexican male is blonde! FACT!! Lol

I like your friend’s collection of Mexican Joes, my favourite figures his got are ALERTA AVENTUREROS, AVENTUREROS AL RESCATE, Aventurero Explorador & Aguila, AVENTURA EN EL ARTICO, WHITE TIGER HUNT, but my most favourite has to be ADVENTURERS ALERT, I just love the St Bernard dog. They only had a short run Paul from about 1973 to 1977 then they were stopped i think ?

They also only done the mexican head sculpt for 1 year then used the generic one thats why its so rare

Fascinating and fantasico!

The hook for me, as you say, Dan, is their unique take on the sets, yes, like other manufacturers they recycle the usual bits and pieces, but they also bring a lot of their own ideas to the table - excellent!

LOL! Many years ago I knew Steve (who plays Zac Dingle) very well. A great feller who has a terrific sense of humour...
but he's not as handsome as that!
