| As I felt the chances of me getting a decent AT copter from the states were quite slim I decided to try and make my own from old AM pieces . First step was to under coat...  next was to spray it yellow( obviously!) here it is with my other bits to go towards my stolen Idol .  I've got some stickers on the way, and maybe the tail bits. I still need a winch and the landing gear which maybe the hardest to source. If anyone has broken feet bits let me know , maybe I can piece together a full set. _________________  | |

| Gideon, That tail piece will be perfect for that project, it's all there, since you're gonna paint it it'll look great. As for the landing gear, I'm looking too, they are tough, I've been thinking of how to make one, any ideas out there???

| Nice work Gideon, that looks fantastic so far. I hope you manage to get hold of the landing gear, it certainly is hard to find the complete landing gear on its own. I have made one out of welding electrodes in the past, I thought that was a little heavy but it certainly looked the part and it was very sturdy when sitting on the shelf. I used to be a pressure welder so welding electrodes came in handy at times. I wish I still had it to show you but as I bought more helicopters I have pieced together a complete one and I threw out the landing gear for some reason.
The spray job you have done looks fantastic. The colour looks fantastic.
I just remembered why I thru out the landing gear out. I cut it off the helicpoter when I got hold of the proper landing gear as I was scared of breaking or scratching the chopper as I pulled it back out of the holes. | |

| I had to respray the copter as I found the yellow i used was too bright. so here is the almost complete item. now with tail, winch and stickers!  _________________ | |
