Story of the Wounded Soldier Part 2

Sorry guys, I was concentrating so hard working out the wounded soldier's elastic type and tension that I didn't get any photos of the rebuild! Suffice to say that I've learnt all I know from Sparklebudgie's tutorials and lots of effing and blinding...  ...  

After a few dummy runs I finally got what feels like a good tension by almost guessing the elastic length and tweaking with a custom neck hook.

Anyhow, here is the wounded soldier standing again! And what a handsome chap he has become as well! Actually, I think he looks like a bit of a freak!



I decided to use my cute disco haired friend for his head, as I've fixed his glowing eye properly now, also from salvaged parts; seems like a good idea to marry them up. And anyhow it's the only spare head I have that doesn't need a re-flock.

Maybe I should call him Salvage Man or simply Le Freak!

I know...The Salvage Man a.k.a. Le Freak...c'est chic...wow!  

Next step is to get his right lower leg sorted as that one in the photo is seriously split and a pair of nice useful hands i.e. grippers of some kind. Then get him dressed up and kitted out and see how he looks in some nice photos...

Tried to get the last glimmer of sunshine today, just to prove that it is daylight still when I get home from work!

Rubbish mobile phone camera, I'll get some nice photos done at the weekend, but at least you can see how clean and tidy he is now...  

Le Freak? Has he heard '..about the new dance craze?'   

Actually he looks good Ralph. Nice clean-up and re-build!

Thanks Steve! I know you're not a big fan of the much maligned Atomic Man sculpt, but this one will look cool when I get him kitted out and photographed! He now has a nice long scar on his right calf, as I just did my first melt repair to the split...looks good...  

he's looking really good Ralph and all credit to you its good to have a go at repairing the troops but he's getting there mate well done   Ian

Thanks Ian...it was a really enjoyable thing to do, he's posing on my desk at the moment dressed in an orange Joe 40th flight suit...  

I'm planning the next rebuild project already which is going to be Tom K 2.0, my first Tom K rebuild project suffered a major set back as I strung him up too tight and his chest split open, so I used the rest of that figure to rebuild Frankie properly... 

Great work!      

Basic orange pilot overalls would look nice on that figure, plus some short black boots and a black woolly hat   
He'll then be well on his way to a life of vam stardom!

He has got short black boots on, but the woolly hat is at my home, I'll put it on at the weekend and see how it looks...
