Getting use out of a tattered uniform

I picked up a decent PH redhead from an antique store about 2 months back.


The Japan-tagged Action Soldier fatigues were in a sorry state,


but since he's a redhead, I transferred him to the Marines:


I don't like to waste a vintage piece; and aside from the evidence of backyard battles, the uniform is intact. (Snaps, buttons, etc.) How to put it to good use? The trousers would need shorts under them to prevent a draft. So, where to find a figure who was wearing shorts that would be happy with any uniform?




His camo shorts prevent too much of a draft:


He's still the most uncool member of the collection; but at least he's no longer standing watch in his undies!

Good to see old things being used, and the figures look great. I had an issue with a pair of MAM trousers with a tear in them, but in that case the solution was simple - just turn them round! Most MAM trousers with elastic don't have a front or back so it doesn't look any different!
