A tip for making laces that I thought of yesterday.
The round elastic that has multiple VAM uses such as attaching the neck posts on blue pant bodies and restringing the earlier bodies is made up of multiple small strands of elastic. These are a suitable size to use as boot laces. Using a darning needle I laced the boots up and then tied them at the top whilst off the figure. The stretch of the elastic allows you to slip them on easily.
The length needed was 4 or 5 inches, with enough strands for a few pairs of boots.
